I have been teaching for 24 years, and I’m now in my third year at the high school level. Before this, I spent many years teaching middle school, which gave me valuable insight into the challenges students face as they grow and transition into high school. This experience has helped me better understand and support my students, both academically and personally, as they navigate this important stage in their lives. I am passionate about creating a positive and welcoming classroom environment where students feel comfortable, encouraged, and ready to learn.

Outside of school, I am a proud mom to three wonderful adult daughters. I grew up in Northern Ontario, where camping and fishing were a big part of my life, and I still enjoy spending time outdoors whenever I can. Our three-year-old Bernedoodle is a constant source of laughter for my girls and me. I also love to travel and was lucky to join our school’s international trip to France and Spain this past spring—an unforgettable experience that I truly treasured.

A verse that inspires me as a teacher is: “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Teaching is truly one of the greatest joys in my life. I am passionate about creating a classroom where students feel valued, supported, and challenged to grow.
As William Butler Yeats once said, “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” I believe teaching is about sparking that fire—helping students discover their strengths, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of learning.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead, filled with new opportunities, growth, and shared learning. Each year brings fresh possibilities, and I am excited to see the ways in which my students and I will learn and grow together.
